From the Mansfield Institute for Social Justice and Transformation:
"Interested in
tutoring a child in reading? Please contact the Mansfield Institute for Social
Justice and Transformation. We are partnering with an organization to help
provide educational support for youth from a Southwest side elementary school.
Beginning this February, each Wednesday, 4th and 5th grade students will be
bussed to Roosevelt University’s Chicago campus for a one-hour long tutoring
session from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
We are looking for faculty, administrators and students interested in working,
one on one, with a child to mentor them and help them improve their reading
skills and overall educational direction in order to keep them on the path
towards college and productive adulthood. A brief orientation/training session
will be provided before the start of the program. Please let us know if you are
interested in this volunteer opportunity.
If you are interested or have questions, please email Nancy Michaels at: nmichaels@roosevelt.edu.
Nancy Michaels, MISJT, Associate Director"
