The library has begun an online subscription to the business
newspaper of record, the Wall Street
Journal. Owned by Dow Jones & Co,
which in turn was recently acquired by journalism giant, NewsCorp, the Wall Street Journal is a weekday paper
that provides World, U.S., and Business news and
editorials. Market pricing updates for U.S. and
international stocks, bonds, commodities, and mutual funds are also a key feature
each morning for many readers.
The library’s subscription, purchased through the online service
provider ProQuest, gives the full text of articles published originally in the
print edition from 1984 to the present. Along
with access to articles are many search facilitation fields, including professionally-provided
subject indexing terms and NAICS code searchability. The library’s service does not include articles
published exclusively in the web version of the Wall Street Journal.
If you are using our EBSCO Business Source Premier, or other
library databases, and your results include a citation to a Wall Street Journal article, just click
on the ‘Get Article’ button. In the ‘SFX
Services’ popup, click on ‘For library holdings, see the Library’s A-Z listing’. At the ‘Title begins with’ prompt, type in
“Wall Street Journal”. You will actually
be directly connected to the library database at this point.
