Hi, I'm Carrie. I'm new to the reference desk, but I've actually been working at the Roosevelt library for almost five years now. I have a split position, working half of my time in technical services of the main library and the other half in technical services of the performing arts library. Now I work at reference too!
I graduated from Elmhurst College in 2003 with a degree in English and am currently a graduate student in the library science program at Dominican University. This is my last semester! I really enjoy the academic library setting and hope to continue working in an academic library after I graduate.
Like my performing arts library colleagues, I have some background in the arts. I played the clarinet for many years and studied some theater as part of my English major. This has come in handy not only for my regular job duties, but also for the blog posts I now help write for the performing arts library.
I really like Roosevelt's commitment to social justice and the diversity of the student body here. Since I began working here five years ago, I've met people from all different backgrounds. I enjoy working with the students here and being a part of their academic experience. I look forward to working more with the Roosevelt community in the future!
