Graduate Student in the Women's and Gender Studies Program
What book are you reading?
The Moral Animal: Why we are, the way we are: The New Science of Evolutionary Psychology by Robert Wright
Describe the book in one or two sentences.
This book provide a great introduction to the concepts of evolutionary psychology. Focusing on Darwinian theory, wright provides explanations for why we are the way we are, emotionally and morally.
What do you like or not like about it?
I enjoy the book because it challenges me to think more about why we are moral beings and to think more about how morality is developed in our species. I don't buy into everything he espouses, but it is definitely food for thought.
